What would have happened to any of you?
Posted by: Lightscriber Aug 01, 06 | 7:45 pm This is an email I recently sent to the board of directors of Petaluma Community Access. Who does the board of directors work for, the members, the ED, the board of directors, or the board chair and vice chair? If your answer is anything other than the members, you shouldn't be on the BOD of PCA. Now for the real considerations: 1). What would have happened to any of you if you had violated state law by writing not one, but three bad checks? 2). What would have happened if any one of you were in charge of hiring, and violated state law by hiring staff without posting the position for all the public to apply for the open position? 3). What if you stated that someone resigned, but there's no letter of resignation. You told this person that their last day is some specified date, in this case 7/30/06 but you don't have their final paycheck ready on 7/29/06 at the close of business as required by state law? 4). What would happen if you continued to refused to obey a directive of a superior for more than 7 months. 5). Perhaps you all should also find out what insurance had to be renewed on the day of the retreat, just before the retreat began. Supposed that insurance had been allowed to lapse. Hope it wasn't D&O, broadcast liability, general liability, and any other coverage. What do think would happen if you contiually placed your employer in a position of possible criminal or civil liability? Post comment:
