If the Executive Director is INEPT?
Posted by: txb Aug 06, 06 | 7:34 pm Is the Board of Directors of Petaluma Community Access actually considering renewing the contract of the now ED Jennine Lanouette? In the past year +, I've watched the spirit of many veteran producers of PCA be dashed by what I see as ineptitude on the part of the ED and one particular staff member. And imagine having a board chair, Bert Crews, who at the last board meeting told a member that PCA isn't responsible for letting the member know when their membership is about to expire. Let me see if understand mister Crews; the DMV can let me know by mail that my driver's license is going to expire, even though my driver's license has that information on it already. But Bert Crews feels that PCA doesn't need to let members know that their membership is expiring even though PCA doesn't provide a membership card that could have the same information such as expiration. Which is amusing, because prior to Ms. Lanouette taking over, PCA had started issuing membership cards which showed membership expiration. So here's the question, with all the ineptitude shown by this ED, if the board renews her contract might one be led to believe that perhaps this board may be just as inept in its decision making? By the way, if an employer takes your keys which allows you access to the place of employment, tells you your last day is a given day, does that constitue being fired? Tell me what you think.

Are producers of programs aired on PCA considered volunteers? The PCA Personnel Policies refers to a "PCA Volunteer Program" Do Volunteers go by the same complaint procedures as employees? and the same Grievance procedure in the PCA Personnel Policies? Or would volunteers follow the Ciitizen Complaint procedure in the Personnel Policies? Are we Volunteers first and Citizens second? Or 2cd class citizens? Shouldn't the Members handbook include the complaint/greivance procedures that are in the PCA Personell Policies?
